Missions Conference 2010

March 12 - 14

Have you ever wondered where God could use you? Why not consider serving through missions? Are you willing, but don’t know how to start? Harvester invites you to explore the opportunities to serve at our missions conference. We'd love for you to see how you fit into God's redemptive plan!

Friday, March 12
Evening of Prayer and Worship
6 to 8 PM @ The REALM

We will be gathering together at The REALM to worship God through song and prayer. We will explore God's Word, hear how missions is a means for worship, and spend 45 minutes praying for our community and our missions partners. We will have three stations set up for corporate prayer where you will join with a missions leader in praying for those who don't know Christ. We will announce our 2010 trips and have opportunities for you to ask questions and sign up for more information. There will be missions activities for your birth through 5th graders at the same time as this event. Please drop your children off at the main building before coming to The REALM. Come join us as we humbly ask God to use our church body to proclaim the gospel and serve others.

Saturday, March 13
Serving our Community Together

RSVP to reserve your box lunch

We will be gathering together and serving our community through our various local mission partnerships. We have assigned Connection Points to the different projects and encourage you to serve alongside those that you study God's Word with. If you're not part of a Connection Point, come out and join us and we can help point you to a project. There will be missions activities for your children at the same time of the service projects (birth through 5th grade). You will eat lunch with your children, then drop them off before heading out to your project. Below is a list and brief description of our service projects.

  • Christian Activities Center - We’ll be hosting a carnival with inflatables and listening to their children’s choir.
  • El Shaddai Ranch (Middle School) - We’ll be working to help clean the ranch and set up for the summer ministry.
  • Fireman Appreciation (Kids) - Our children will be stuffing bags for the firemen to show their appreciation.
  • Habitat for Humanity - We’ll be working with Habitat St. Charles to join them for a building project.
  • International Students - We’ll be taking them out for a meal and participating in a scavenger hunt in the Delmar Loop.
  • Our Lady's Inn Pregnancy Center - We’ll be sorting clothes, cleaning, and reading with the children.
  • Restore St. Louis (High School) - We are participating in the Second Saturday program serving the people of St. Louis.
  • World Hunger Packing - We’ll be packing world hunger packets and hygiene kits on-site for those in need overseas.

“Radical Lifestyle” Missional Emphasis in the Worship Services

All Connection Points will meet in the Fellowship Hall to get the opportunity to personally hear from some of our missions partners. We will be talking with one of our partner missionaries in India via an online conversation. Additionally, we will hear from local missionaries working with the Christian Activities Center and the International Students Ministry.

There will be an information meeting for those interested in joining one of our 2010 trips from 12:30 to 1 PM. Additional informational meetings for each specific trip will follow in the weeks after the missions conference.
